sunrise brushstroke

It was an early morning well rewarded:

first waiting in the dark,

next getting rained on periodically,

then being treated to this living canvas of light, shadow, shifting forms, colour,

and finally watching the Artist’s vivid brushstroke spread across the sky.

It was when I was happiest that I longed most…

The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing…

to find the place where all the beauty came from.”

~ C.S. Lewis, “Till We Have Faces”

Mesmerized by whispers of the waves

reciting a salty-sweet poem

each line similar,  yet unique

full of soothing, and yearning, and exquisite grace.

the breakwater

Like last week’s image, here’s another tribute to The Breakwater.

 She’s my favourite walk – a .75km sea wall

offering a unique experience of the ocean and it’s wildlife.

This Victoria landmark remains,

but current renovations will change the way she looks forever.
